Mattie Adams, OD

Dr. Mattie Adams, a Tennessee native, joined Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in 2022 as a consultative optometrist after completing her post-doctoral training as an Ocular Disease Resident Optometrist here at BBEC. During her residency, she became extremely proficient in the treatment of retinal disease, glaucoma, uveitis, corneal pathology, dry eye, and the complexities of pre-and post-operative cataract, retinal, corneal, and glaucoma surgeries. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, Summa Cum Laude, from Tennessee Tech University before graduating at the top of her class from Indiana University School of Optometry.

Dr. Adams was recognized by Women in Optometry as a 2021 Top Optometry Graduate. She has also been the recipient of numerous accolades on the state and national level for academic and clinical excellence, such as the American Academy of Optometry J. Pat Cummings Award, EF Wildermuth Foundation Harriet Slaughter Fellowship, and the Indiana Optometric Association Jack Bennett Humanitarian Award.

Dr. Adams is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Kentucky Optometric Association. During her free time, she enjoys gardening and hiking with her husband and their two dogs, Norman & Oslo.
