Dr. Makayla Hall is an optometrist with Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers. Originally from Waverly, Ohio, she earned her Bachelor of Biological Science from the University of Cincinnati prior to earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Dr. Hall then completed her post-doctoral residency training in ocular disease at the Cincinnati Eye Institute where she completed rotations in areas such as neuro-ophthalmology, retina, cornea, glaucoma, uveitis, and more.
While in residency, Dr. Hall received the Resident Surgical Procedures Course Scholarship while attending the American Academy of Optometry in Boston, MA where she received extensive hands-on training in eyelid lesion and chalazion removal, dry eye treatment, local anesthesia injections, suturing, and laser procedures such as YAG capsulotomy, LPI, and SLT. Dr. Hall was also chosen as a top 10 poster finalist and presenter at East West Eye Conference in Columbus, Ohio as well as a top 3 poster finalist and presenter at East West Destinations in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
While in optometry school, Dr. Hall was a student fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and president of the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society (OWNS). Dr. Hall was nominated for the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award by her clinical attendings for demonstrating outstanding achievements in the clinical care of low vision patients. She completed clinical externships at Gaddie Eye Centers as well as here at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising, cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals, and camping with her husband and two dogs. Dr. Hall is licensed to practice in both Ohio and Kentucky.
