Dr. Olivia Jacobs is a newly graduated ocular disease resident at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, Kentucky, where she provides patient care at the Hurstbourne location and affiliated offices. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Louisville before receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Dr. Jacobs spent her childhood in both Orlando and Salt Lake City, Utah. She later relocated to Louisville to complete her undergraduate education before pursuing a career in optometry. She completed clinical rotations at Clayton Eye Center in Morrow, Georgia, and Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, where she gained extensive experience managing a wide range of ocular conditions and caring for patients undergoing cataract, corneal, glaucoma, and retinal procedures.
Dr. Jacobs is actively involved in clinical research and has presented her work at national optometric meetings. Her research interests include pediatric ocular health, choroidal imaging, and the relationship between systemic health, nutrition, and ocular structure. She has received several honors and research awards, including the Charles Burnett Endowed Research Scholarship, the Bence Student Travel Fellowship Award, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Research Grant. She remains committed to incorporating research into her career to advance evidence-based patient care and contribute to the field of optometry.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Jacobs enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her dog, and supporting University of Louisville athletics.
