Description: This person is a member of the team responsible for patient care. The primary responsibilities of the ophthalmic technician include all areas of patient care as they relate to pre-testing, work-ups, ancillary testing as directed by a doctor, scribing, or any other clinical duties that facilitate patient flow doctor efficiency. The technician must develop proficiency in all areas of clinical testing, including completion of the Home Study course and CPR training. Secondary duties include phone triage/patient call backs, inventory and stocking of exam/clinical rooms at all offices and periodic cleaning of instruments.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior medical and/or ophthalmic experience is preferred. Upon hire, technician will be required to complete the Home Study course and CPR training. Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance. Since Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers is a practice with multiple facilities, the candidate must be able to travel to all work sites as necessary. This is a full-time, 5 day-per-week position.
