Dr. Will Gibson joined Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in 2020 as an Ocular Disease Resident Optometrist. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences (Summa Cum Laude) from Auburn University. He then earned his optometry degree with honors from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Gibson’s training was focused on primary eye care, treatment and management of ocular disease, and fitting specialty contact lenses. He completed externships at the Birmingham VA Medical Center, Day Eye Care in Gardendale, AL, and Alabama Vision Center in Birmingham, AL. While in school, Dr. Gibson participated in various extracurricular activities and received numerous scholarships. He was involved in community service programs such as Remote Area Medical, UAB Gift of Sight, and Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH). Dr. Gibson coordinated two international trips to provide comprehensive eye care to underserved communities in Tocumen, Panama, and San Estevan, Belize.
Dr. Gibson is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, the American Optometric Association, and the Kentucky Optometric Association.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Gibson enjoys spending time with his wife Morgan. His hobbies include basketball, tennis, hiking, and traveling.
