The light adjustable lens (LAL) provides the only surgical technique that allows for the intraocular lens power to be adjusted AFTER the lens has been implanted into the eye. Post surgical treatment with a Laser Delivery Device (LDD) uses harmless ultraviolet light to change the orientation of the macromers within the lens providing the patient with fine tuned post operative vision.
Patients undergo routine cataract surgery, the LAL is implanted within the eye like any other lens. Adjustments are made within the office once the eye has healed. Patients can expect 1 or 2 post operative visits where the final adjustments are measured and “locked in”.
