Dr. Singal One of NYEEI Doctors at World Trade Center Triage Site
This September 11th marks the tenth anniversary of a horrific act of terrorism on U.S. soil that claimed thousands of lives. We at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers have a very special meaning to this day: our own Dr. Inder Singal was at the World Trade Center site assisting the brave men and women who faced numerous injuries and casualties when the towers fell. Dr. Singal, along with three of his colleagues from New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, volunteered to help. Within two hours of the terror strike, they had set up a triage center at the World Trade Centers’ location. Dr. Singal still describes the scene at the WTC vividly, “The burning, melting steel pillar; streets lined with destroyed cars; shattered windows and doors for blocks.” The soot covered streets reminded him of a post nuclear war movie.“Our way of life changed forever that day,” states Dr. Singal. He kept the soot covered shoes he wore that day as a reminder of the evil in this world. Please click here to read an article he wrote along with his colleagues describing the events.

There are no words I can express how kind and generous you all have been. Thank you so much for making this surgery possible for me. Without it I would have lost my eyesight. It goes to show that God still has wonderful people on this earth. God Bless you all and thank yo...
Thankfully Yours, M.K.
