Diabetic Studies

Sponsor: Alimera Sciences

Purpose: To compare the visual improvement of patients given fluocinolone acetonide after previous laser therapy to reduce their macular edema. The study lasts 3 years.

Sponsor: Allergan Pharmaceuticals

Purpose: To evaluate the safety and compare the visual improvement of patients given combined dexamethasone and laser photocoagulation with patients treated with just laser photocoagulation to reduce their macular edema. The study lasts between 12 and 16 months and consists of 11 scheduled visits.

Age-related Macular Degeneration Studies

Sponsor: Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of vision loss and the safety of repeated doses of VEGF Trap in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration. The study lasts 3 years and will require approximately 26 study visits.

Cataract Studies

Sponsor: ALCON Research

Purpose: To evaluate whether Nepafenac is safe and effective for reducing the incidence of macular edema following cataract surgery in patients with diabetic retinopathy. The study consists of nine scheduled visits and lasts ninety days.

 Other Studies

Sponsor: BAYER Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Inc

Purpose:To assess whether PDE5 Inhibitor exposure in men with Erectile Dysfunction increases the risk for development of Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION).
