Laura F. Rayne, OD

Dr. Rayne Dr. Laura F. Rayne is the newest member of the Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers Optometric Residency Program. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in May of 2011 with high honors. Her final year of school consisted of rotations at Prado Vision Center in Tampa, Florida, Briggs Vision Group in Atlanta, Georgia, UAB School of Optometry Clinics in Birmingham, Alabama, and Long Point Eye Center in Charleston, South Carolina.

Upon graduation from UAB School of Optometry, Dr. Rayne received the Dean’s Award for excellence in academics, clinical care, service and leadership.  Dr. Rayne has served as secretary and president of the UAB School of Optometry chapter of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society as well as Vice President of UAB School of Optometry’s chapter of SVOSH (Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity).  She has traveled to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Colombia to provide eye care.

Dr. Rayne was chosen as one of the 2010 Carl Zeiss Vision Fellows by the American Optometric Foundation, and plans to pursue Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Rayne is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society, Gold Key Honor Society, Kentucky Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
