What You Should Know About E-LASEK

E-LASEK is a variation of PRK in which the surface epithelium is dissolved using a diluted alcohol solution and moved over to the side prior to the laser treatment. Once the epithelium is gently moved, the expert hands of Dr. Donald Bennett guide the excimer laser to precisely reshape the cornea. The epithelium is then repositioned. A bandage soft contact lens is worn for the first few days following the procedure until the surface heals.

Like most of our vision correction procedures, E-LASEK takes less than ten minutes to perform and is virtually painless. However, during the healing period there may be some pain or mild discomfort and blurred vision. Most patients see well without glasses or contacts after just a few days and are ready to return to a normal lifestyle.

Once a thorough evaluation is performed, Dr. Bennett will determine which procedure is better suited for you, based upon your individual eye findings. To find out more, or schedule your FREE evaluation, contact a member of our Vision Correction Team.
