Ophthalmic Technician

Ophthalmic Technician

Description: This person is a member of the team responsible for patient care. The primary responsibilities of the ophthalmic technician include all areas of patient care as they relate to pre-testing/work-ups, ancillary testing as directed by a doctor, scribing, or any other clinical duties that facilitate patient flow doctor efficiency. He/She must develop proficiency in all areas of clinical testing, including completion of the Home Study course and CPR training. Secondary duties include phone triage/patient call backs, inventory and stocking of exam/clinical rooms at all offices and periodic cleaning of instruments.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required. Prior medical and/or ophthalmic experience is preferred. Upon hire, technician will be required to complete the Home Study course and CPR training. Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance. Since Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers is a practice with multiple facilities, the candidate must be able to travel to all work sites as necessary. This is a full-time, 5 day-per-week position.
