As Coyote Calhoun, DJ and Program Director for WAMZ, says
"When you're in the radio business, you're in the people business." But, the last few years Coyote's distance vision became
weaker; the images on TV got blurry; and when he saw people at work or at a concert even they were out of focus.
Finally, Coyote knew his vision wouldn't get better and something had to be done. He was sure he needed
LASIK. After hearing from his eye doctor and others of Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers' excellent reputation,
Coyote made his first appointment.
During the evaluation, Dr. Bennett discovered that Coyote actually
had cataracts. With Coyote's active lifestyle, Dr. Bennett believed he would be better served by one
of the new accommodating lens implants, the Crystalens™.
When Coyote was told that "this type of surgery would restore not only near (vision) but far (vision)," he decided to have
the surgery. In Coyote's mind, it was a "quality of life decision." He was excited at the prospect that he may be able to "forgo
wearing glasses."
Coyote underwent the Crystalens Vision Enhancement procedure in July. "It was a 10-minute procedure (I) didn't even need
anesthesia." He was not apprehensive at all during the process. "The impressive support staff . . . helps you to relax and
ease any apprehensions!"
Once the procedure was performed by Dr. Bennett, Coyote's vision began to steadily improve. "My results - not only is everything
in focus but colors are even brighter! It's like a whole new world!"
